Why were Bnei Yisrael (the Children of Israel) commanded to love the stranger (convert) as they loved themselves? |
Because by doing so they would be an example unto the nations
Because Bnei Yisrael were strangers in the land of Mitzrayim (Egypt)
Because then the strangers would treat them nicely in return
Because all people are God's children
